Founded in 1984, National Conference of Unit Valuation States (NCUVS) operates as a national organization specializing in the ad valorem taxation of centrally assessed properties. NCUVS established uniform standards for the valuation and taxation of public utility, railroad, telecommunication, transportation, and other centrally assessed properties.

NCUVS is a self-sustaining organization and membership is restricted to state government employees in the public sector.  Participating states utilize the forum to discuss current events in the centrally assessed valuation field.
